Get the changes made
One of the smartest things to do is order the item on the menu with the modifications you need. For example, if you need a particular dish without butter or without sugar, ask for it. If you are polite, the hotel staff will be happy to accommodate you.
Go easy on sauces and dressings
Sauces and dressings have too many calories because most of them have large quantities of sugar, butter, sour cream and cream. Use a teaspoon to measure the amount you wish to consume. This way you won’t over consume it.
Size does matter
The portion is very important so eat everything in moderation. The restaurant may serve a large portion but do not eat all of it just because you don’t want it to get wasted. Just eat the amount that fills your tummy. Items like pasta and rice are high in carbs and limit its consumption. With veggies, you can eat how much ever you want.
Prefer Chinese and International cuisines
When thinking of Chinese food, you may think of deep fried meats and sugary sauces but you can try out dishes like steamed veggies and broth-based soups. They are great in taste and will satisfy your palate. Other healthy cuisines are French and East Indian. Even Indian food isn’t that unhealthy if you lessen the consumption of ghee, oil and coconut milk.
